Goal. The course looks into the semantic and pragmatic impact of prosodical features of spoken language like stress and pitch contours. We will discuss options of describing such phenomena with formal means.
In the beginning we will discuss prosodical phenomena and general semantic and pragmatic approaches to prosody. Subsequently participants of the course will deal with special phenomena. They will investigate the auditive, semantic and pragmatic features and give a formal account of the semantics and pragmatics.
